For life, for good.

The couch to 5k,

may just be the way,

to make a start,

and look after your heart.

 

You can take it slow,

with a plod or a walk.

Just go at a pace,

that you can still talk.

 

As time goes on,

you might manage to run.

You will probably still,

Not find it much ‘fun’.

 

But the weeks will pass,

you’ll get strong and might try,

to run a bit more.

You won’t want to cry!

 

And before you know it,

you’re up to 5k.

And parkrun might,

become your way…

 

To keep it going,

And make it the ‘norm’

With friends you will laugh,

you’ll be on great form…

 

At home and work,

you’ll start to feel good.

Productive and happy,

And you know you could…

 

Go a bit further,

a bit faster and then,

you’re upping the k’s

and you’re up to 10!

 

You’re telling work mates,

Friends. Family.

‘Come on, join in’

Feel great, you’ll see’.

 

And one by one,

the movement starts.

Walk, run, dance, swim,

all healthier hearts.

 

And you can’t imagine,

how it would feel,

to go back to the couch.

It doesn’t seem real.

 

A life of movement,

for ever, we could.

Be happier, healthier.

For life. For good.
